瘦素(Leptin)是由ob基因編碼、在脂肪組織中生成的一種脂肪代謝調(diào)控產(chǎn)物，在代謝和調(diào)控體重等方面發(fā)揮重要作用。它通過下丘腦中的瘦素受體發(fā)出信號(hào)，降低食欲，增加能量消耗。在外周組織中，瘦素能拮抗胰島素信號(hào)傳導(dǎo)，增加脂肪酸氧化，減少胰島β細(xì)胞的胰島素分泌，并促進(jìn)生育。它在脂肪細(xì)胞中的表達(dá)可以被其他脂肪因子如IL-6（刺激）和TNF-α（抑制）以旁分泌方式調(diào)節(jié)。瘦素缺乏的小鼠表現(xiàn)出嚴(yán)重的胰島素抵抗、肥胖和生育能力下降，所有這些都可以通過外源性瘦素給藥而逆轉(zhuǎn)。
