用于表征感染的不同階段，對(duì)分析AAV2組裝過程非常有用。A20與AAV2和AAV3、空衣殼和全衣殼特異性反應(yīng)。識(shí)別組裝衣殼的構(gòu)象表位，不存在于變性衣殼蛋白和天然但未組裝的衣殼蛋白中。該抗體不能用于免疫印跡。

表位定位實(shí)驗(yàn)（Wobus等人，2000）確定了四個(gè)免疫反應(yīng)（不連續(xù)）區(qū)域。主要反應(yīng)歸因于AAV2衣殼的AA369至aa378序列。該抗體也可用于中和實(shí)驗(yàn)。
